Achawib is one of the titled Amerindian villages with an area of 166.944 sq miles. The village is located in the Deep South, Rupununi – approximately 44 km east from the Brazilian border and 44 km West of Aishalton Village which is the administrative centre of Deep South Villages. It has a population of approximately 616 persons and the main spoken language is Wapichan, which is one of Amerindian languages. The main activity of the village is subsistence farming; and the types of transport include: bicycles, motorcycles, horse riding and foot.
